Staff Security Engineer, IAM

Lead IAM security engineering and architecture for Coinbase's workforce and platforms.

• •Coinbase is seeking a Staff Security Engineer focused on Identity and Access Management (IAM) to architect and deliver solutions that balance zero-trust security with workforce enablement.
• •This role is crucial for protecting customer funds, sensitive data, and maintaining trust on the Coinbase platform.
• •Key Responsibilities Lead architectural vision and security engineering for IAM and workforce security platforms across multi-cloud, SaaS, and internal applications.
• •Design and implement strategies for Identity Governance and Administration (IGA), integrating tools with custom middleware and AI models.
• •Write code to build scalable automation, custom integrations, and self-service guardrails within CI/CD pipelines and provisioning workflows.
• •Conduct threat modeling and security architecture reviews for identity systems and SaaS integrations.
• •Partner with Engineering, IT, HR, and Product teams to align security initiatives with business goals.
• •Requirements 7+ years of experience in software engineering, security engineering, or systems architecture with a focus on IAM and enterprise workforce security.
• •Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go) and experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• •Proven track record of implementing complex hybrid IAM infrastructures and integrating third-party SaaS applications.
