Staff Backend Engineer - Device Security

Build and scale backend systems and security tooling for Verkada devices.

• •Build and scale backend systems and security infrastructure for Verkada devices, improving authorization, logging, testing, and firmware supply chain protections.
• •Key Responsibilities Design, build, maintain, and scale device security backend systems (authorization, logging).
• •Develop and maintain security infrastructure and internal tooling for automated device security testing.
• •Research and develop tooling to secure the firmware supply chain.
• •Mentor other engineers and contribute to security practices.
• •Requirements 8+ years developing Go/Python microservices with AWS and participating in on-call.
• •Strong knowledge of scalable, fault-tolerant backend system design (databases, queues, blob storage).
• •Working knowledge of Temporal, Kubernetes, Docker, Redis, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, S3, Kafka.
• •Firmware or OS-level development experience and security/hacker mindset preferred.
