Engineering Manager, Rider Growth

Manage an engineering team building rider acquisition and retention systems for Waymo.

• •Lead a cross-functional engineering squad to drive rider acquisition, activation, retention, and lifetime value for Waymo's rider product.
• •Key Responsibilities Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team focused on rider growth.
• •Partner with Product, UX, and Data Science to define and execute roadmap for rider growth and retention.
• •Architect onboarding, subscription, loyalty, and promotional systems integrated with core platform services.
• •Collaborate with ML scientists and economists to build low-latency promotional engines and run robust experiments.
• •Requirements 4+ years managing software engineering teams and mentoring senior engineers. 6+ years building scalable backend systems or high-performance B2C mobile apps.
• •Practical experience with A/B Testing, experimental design, and funnel analysis.
• •Fluency with data analytics tools (SQL, Python/Pandas, Tableau) and quantitative decision-making.
