Senior Staff TLM, Data Mining and Sampling for ML and Evaluation

Lead engineering and technical efforts to mine and sample driving data for ML and evaluation.

• •Lead a small engineering team to build tools and automation for mining and sampling driving log data to support ML development and evaluation across Waymo's fleet and simulation environments.
• •Key Responsibilities Develop tools to mine novel safety-relevant situations from driving logs using ML and structured data Design and tune advanced sampling techniques and simulations for strong signal in metrics and models Build automation to scale mining and sampling across new cities Contribute hands-on to engineering and data science projects and provide technical leadership Partner cross-functionally on strategy and execution Requirements 7+ years industry experience with C++, SQL, and Python and building data pipelines Strong engineering design, programming, and data analysis skills Familiarity with statistical methods, experiment design, and sampling Familiarity with ML concepts and practices Experience managing teams (up to ~8 people); BS/MS in quantitative field
